KI Integrative Medicine and Acupuncture was founded with a single purpose: to uncover and address the root causes of your health challenges and provide the comprehensive care you need to start feeling better again. Our clinic specializes in treating pain and chronic illnesses such as Lyme disease, autoimmune conditions, and environmental toxicities.
The name 'KI' represents the vital life force that flows through all living beings according to Eastern medicine. Our goal is to help you restore balance and harmony within your body, mind, and spirit – leading to optimal health and well-being.
Our founder, Michael Killian, battled severe skin issues for years, trying countless treatments with no success. Despite numerous visits to dermatologists and various medications, nothing worked.
But one day, while working at a holistic center in New York, he met an acupuncturist who promised help. Skeptical but desperate, he tried acupuncture and saw his skin condition clear up soon after. Michael later described this experience as truly eye-opening, since it changed his perspective on health and healing. So, he changed careers from nursing, and embarked on his journey of becoming a holistic healer.
Years later, Michael faced another set of mysterious symptoms that involved fatigue, digestive problems, brain fog, and pain that moved around. Traditional medical approaches from labs run by medical doctors and a naturopath failed to uncover what was causing his myriad of symptoms.
That is, until a Lyme-specialist MD finally identified Michael’s symptoms as Lyme disease, and helped Michael clear his body of the pathogens and environmental toxins causing his debilitating symptoms.
Inspired by his own journey of recovery, Michael started training under experts in Lyme and autoimmune diseases to understand how to help patients in similar shoes. The biggest turning point in his career was discovering how significantly latent microbes, “dirty” genes, toxins, and heavy metals contribute to why someone has pain, hormonal imbalances, allergies, and inflammation. So, even if someone doesn’t have Lyme disease, these can still be at the root of all other syndromes and conditions.
Today, Michael’s methods have healed thousands of patients who were struggling to find help elsewhere.
Michael completed his four year Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, is nationally board certified through the NCCAOM, and licensed by the state of Wisconsin. While also having studied psychology, nutrition, and nursing in his undergraduate studies at Edgewood College where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree.
Post graduate certifications include:
